Hybrid – Classics : Thank you for your help!

We’d like to thank everyone who so generously took the time to send us their thoughts on which track we should cover. Proof, if ever it was needed, that our supporters have impeccable taste in music (aside from the person who thought Joe Dolce ‘Shuddupayourface’ would make a great cover). We’ve had loads of fun (and a few arguments) deciding on which track to cover from the 700+ suggestions you all left on our website, Facebook and Twitter. It was great to see lots of alternative genres being mentioned from artists such as Nine Inch Nails, Helmet, Pink Floyd, Kate Bush, Doves, Massive Attack and New Order to name a few.

So, we’ve decided on which track to cover and are in the process of putting it together right now. We’ll let you know what it is very soon and post a clip when it’s finished and mastered. We’ll then announce the winners and will be twisting the arm of Distinctive for a goody bag full of CDs and deluxe editions (as many as we can filtch from their office) and post them off to the winning participants and runners up.

Thank you all again for your tireless iTunes, record collection and memory bank searching for the perfect track for us to cover, you lovely lovely people.

Just a little request, can the Album not be mixed together please.. Hybrid tracks and remixes should be enjoyed as a full track..

Guys, super excited about this release – it’s going to be brilliant! So much so that I’d like to get some dialogue going about the fans’ wishlist of unreleased stuff for CD2 of the deluxe edition!! I’ve put my wishlist below…

All I Want (Orchestral Mix) [best unreleased track out there]
I’m Still Awake (Demo) [not the acoustic version but the 'other' version I've heard rumours about...]

I Choose Noise Era:
Until Tomorrow (Demo) [8 min version that went up on Myspace]
If I Survive (2006 version) [Studio version of latest live incarnation of the track?]
Cascade (Re_mixed promo version) [another lost treasure]

Can You Hear Me / Salt [live version from Lucerna Bar this year - I know you recorded it!! ]
Little Bit Of This [the remix of Charlotte's track which was used for Ciu Jian remix and toured in 07]

Glad to hear that your fans could be of some assistance and really looking forward to the classics album and new track. I also agree with a fuzzy’s comment, getting Charlotte to re-vocalise some of your older tracks would be great, especially if she’s now a permanent fixture of the Hybrid band! Even if it’s a live session

Also, with your work on films ever growing do you have OST listing of what you’ve worked on? Would quite like to pick up some of them…I really enjoy what Harry Gregson-Williams and the like get up to anyway.

I just wanted to inquire on how writing the cover track is coming. I really hope you guys picked the track I suggested, Berlin-Metro. I feel your sound would fit that track fabulously. Anyhow, hope all is well and I can’t wait to hear what you put together.

Jez & Choopie’s “Yim” is an essential addition!!!! It’s what hooked me & to this day is still my favorite Hybrid production. Also your newer mix of Kill City (to my knowledge only available online) & your Creamer & K mix, all essentials!!!
