We are very very proud to announce the launch of our new website for all our film and TV work – www.hybridscores.com. It’s been a long process getting all our material together and figuring out the best way to present it. The site has clips of video of some of the recent film work we’ve been involved in and has an audio page containing some of our favourite score based tracks.

We’ve amassed a hearty collection of material from and hope to add even more in the future, it’s amazing to finally have all our current work to date in one place and would like to thank all the people who helped us to create the site. We hope you’ll have a look through the site and let us know what you think, there isn’t the option to leave comments there but feel free to let us know what you think here. Empire featured in ‘The Rite’ trailer

The opening track from Disappear Here has been chosen for the the trailer for the forthcoming Anthony Hopkins film, The Rite. The version used is a special edit which been taken from the forthcoming ‘Widescreen Edition’ of the album which is due for release on the 22nd of November.

Inspired by true events, “The Rite” follows skeptical seminary student Michael Kovak (Colin O’Donoghue), who reluctantly attends exorcism school at the Vatican. While in Rome, he meets an unorthodox priest, Father Lucas (Anthony Hopkins), who introduces him to the darker side of his faith. Directed by Mikael Hafstroem (“1408″), “The Rite” is a supernatural thriller that uncovers the devil’s reach to even one of the holiest places on Earth.

Choke features on The Spirit Trailer

Forthcoming on Lions Gate this Christmas is the Frank Miller and Will Eisner movie The Spirit. Hybrid’s track Choke with John Graham was chosen to soundtrack the the trailer. Adapted from the legendary comic strip, The Spirit is a classic action adventure-romance told by genre-twister Frank Miller (creator of 300 and Sin City). It is the story of a former rookie cop who returns mysteriously from the dead as the Spirit (played by Gabriel Macht) to fight crime from the shadows of Central City.

Here’s the plot synopsis by Anthony Pereyra :

Down these mean streets a man must come. A hero born, murdered, and born again. When a Rookie cop named Denny Colt returns from the beyond as The Spirit, a hero whose mission is to fight against the bad forces from the shadows of Central City. The Octopus who kills anyone unfortunate enough to see his face who has other plans. He’s going to wipe out the entire city. The Spirit tracks this cold hearted killer from the city’s rundown warehouses, to the damp catacombs, to the windswept waterfront all the while facing a bevy of beautiful women who either want to seduce, love or kill the masked crusader.

The film stars Gabriel Macht, Scarlett Johansson, Samuel L. Jackson, Eva Mendesand Jaime King.
