fantastic stuff guys. I love track 4, Disappear Here, the most so far. it’s all about the broken beat and strings for me! that’s why I love you so much! cannot wait for the 29th. I hope there’s lots of glitchy atmospheric soundscapes and plenty more strings like on Wide Angle and ICN. I’m def hearing more Morning Sci-Fi influenced sounds in the teaser (esp with the 4/4 ‘Original Sin’). I just hope you guys would consider arranging a performance of all your biggest and most string orientated tracks live with a full orchestra. I would pay through the nose to see that…

Hybrid’s been my favorite group for years now and I honestly cannot wait for this album. The teasing crunchy bass lines, swelling atmospheric crescendos, and pristine vocals are going to make this album amazing.
Please please PLEASE tour in the US — I will fly to any state to see you guys. If you did a live orchestra as Stevo suggested, I would absolutely fly anywhere in the world to see it.

I’ve been a fan since Morning Sci Fi and have all original albums including soundsystem 01. I really look forward to the 29th. My favorite album is actually ICN. I love how dark it is at times. But whats great about most of their full albums so far is that I can listen to them from beginning to end without skipping tracks.
I hope this can still be the case. Watching the interviews, they said their track are more song like which I interpret in the electronic underground world as sysnonymous with “going commerical”. After listening to the album teaser, I was a bit on the fence about some of the tracks. Maybe because i didnt hear much orchestrations in the tracks except for the tracks that have been release to us so far. i hope I’m wrong. I just know from experience that as some of my favorite electronic duos get more popular, they start to drive their music to be accepted by more people and they lose some of that flavor that made them unique. I hope I dont have anything to worry about with Disappear Here. Otherwise, It would be a very long wait for a new album.
That all being said though, Break my Soul is an amazing f’ing track.
I too would love to see you guys live with a full orchestra!
Fantastic stuff. Played Break My Soul as the final track of my set at a small festival down in NZ and the crowd flipped… cant wait for the 29th.. There are a lot of people hoping you tour and make it down to New Zealand!!!!!!
Thanks for the download of ‘Break My Soul’ – I’m playing it several times each day. Really pleased to see ‘Formula of Fear’ and ‘Empire’ on this one as well. The video on the making of the album is a great teaser as well.

Sounds like the wait was worth it judging buy the album snippet. And totally agree with what Ethan said with seeing you guys live with a full orchestra.
Aside from all the things already mentioned here – the orchestral arrangements, the cool sounds, the pounding beats (oh, what delicious filtering) – I’d like to stress two other things that I again hear in the Disappear Here tracks, and that greatly contributed to me being hooked since I saw “If I Survive” on MTV ten years ago.
First of those is your creative chord progression. Many producers of electronic music use the same array of working, well-known chord schemes. That of course is OK, they can also make great tracks. But it is this what makes your original work and your remixes stand out from other orchestra-using artists: Those unusual, yet stunningly beautiful chords that make a Hybrid track instantly recognizable. They are the reason tracks like “Kid 2000″, “Just For Today” or the remixes of Ayumi Hamasaki’s “Prologue” or Moby’s “South Side” still send chills of joy down my body after all those years.
Second is the incredibly skillful mixing and mastering work. There are few artists (if any) who pay so much attention to avoiding the numerous pitfalls in these final production stages. That goes especially for your original studio tracks. It just never happens that a track feels overcrowded by the enormous amount of sound layers you use, that one sound is too loud or too low, or that a squeaking treble hurts my ears on headphones (a very very common mistake). Even apart from all things musical, your tracks are sonic bliss.
That said, I’m looking forward to hear what Charlotte’s songwriting has added to my favourite electronic sound crew. “Break My Soul” makes amazing promises.
Live orchestra?!?!?! I would fly anywhere in the world to see it also. Let those musicians get comfortable and go at it!!!!. Let them build us up with your beats and we would all go crazy! Absolutely cant wait for this album. My favorite music by far. I’m dying with it so you better bury me with it.
My fav is Morning Sci-FI it’s my spring morning frost seasonal. It gets played in full at least 20 times a year.
Been a fan since 98′….you guys have maintained my favorite artist across all genres for that entire time.
Disappear Here is very different, somewhat unexpected to me…but in a good way.
Very neat listening to the tracks and picking out little bits I recognize from your score work…Menace (Full Mix) at the beginning of Salt, Little Bit Of This/I Have Nothing in Original Sin… (Any chance for either the James remix or Cui Jian remix to be released?)
I really feel like Disappear Here is what you guys were trying to do with Morning Sci-Fi….but it just wasn’t the place or time for it (Not that MSF is a bad album at all).
I know how much you guys wanted to have that “band” approach to the album…and think you hit it right on the head with this one….Charlotte is a welcome addition!
Another ‘Brit Award’ winning album, I can never understand why I don’t see more of you in the press and on t.v I guess it’s why your the ‘Special Ops’ of the music industry, I’ve really enjoyed the journey so far, and your behind the scenes producer workshops for CM have really helped me get something more out of Reaktor and other samplers. I’m moving my ambient tech styles into psy/ambient breaks because I find the Hybrid sound so infectious.
Hope you do a mini gig in Exeter again sometime, It would be really nice to to see Charlote with you and feel the ambience her presence in the mix.

My favourite album is morning sci fi, i love it for its subtle and sometimes eerie atmospherics, this album certainly sounds different, but chill guys, when have hybrid not produced something great. I love ‘break my soul’ and ‘formula of fear’ and i am sure that we are all in for something very special with ‘disappear here’; bring on the 29th.

Well, what can i say that hasn’t already been said? I’ve been a massive fan of yours since i bought a gatecrasher red album in 98 and couldn’t believe my ears when your track played on my car stereo…instantly in love with your sound and i’ve never looked back since. Think i have almost everything you guys have done over the past 13+ years! I do not have a favourite album, they are all equally amazing in thier own rights..from Snyper to True to Form to Dogstar….All amazingly epic emotional rides. Cannot wait for this new album, sounds so fresh. Gonna wait for my copy to arrive…drive to the cliff tops and play it in my car very loudly! Keep up the relentless good work guys, and please please please play at the IOW festival or Bestival, the island wouldn’t know what has hit it, people would go wild, and i need to see you guys live at least once before i die!! You’re music gives me eargasms!!
Definitely enjoying break my soul and the other pieces have me ready for the full release. You guys have been my fav’s producers since wide angle-”If I survive” hooked me. love all the cords with top notch productions. Whoever does your mastering has some good ears and technical skills. Y’all need to get with BT and do another remix. Nobody else makes music so crisp and clean.
Can’t wait to purchase the vinyl.

Well, I got four tracks in and couldn’t listen anymore; that’s not a critisism, far from it – I just didn’t want to spoil it before the 29th. For me every new Hybrid album is an event, buying it, bringing it home, turning off my phone, putting on a big pair of headphones and just…absorbing it – but from the first four songs it already sounds epic, and Break My Soul is currently on repeat play on my MP3 player. I’m buying this twice!

the teaser sounds great, it seems to be offering new things as well as what you do so well, have been loooking forward to this album for so long, and now i am intriuged as well, like tracks 9 & 10 a slightly different take, seems to be really good, i cannot wait.
aarghh.. just when i thought you were going to keep the more industrial darker dance side of the excellent “i choose noise”….you go and fill this album with singing on nearly every track… and by a girl!!!!…. this album is a womans album now…. what a dissapointment…
I first heard hybrid on a demo reel, and from there I went and got all the music I could get my hands on. Nearly every song is at the top of my most played list and this sounds like it will be right up there with the rest! This seriously sounds like it will be an amazing album.
Brilliant! I’ve been a fan of your music since before my grandfather was born. Seriously, for some reason your music manages to stir the legs, heart and mind. Great work on Break My Soul – Charlotte’s vocals are perfect, raise-the-hair-on-the-back-of-my-neck music! Can’t wait for the new album. Keep up the tremendous work, and come visit the U.S. soon.

I thought Break my Soul was fantastic, and now i hear Formula of Fear, i cant wait to hear the whole thing, wow!
This is my least favourite Hybrid album there is far too much singing and there are not enough instrumental tracks incorporating the orchestra, which is what makes the band unique. It all sounds a bit commercial and feels like listening to a collection of everyday songs rather than listening to an Hybrid album. Having said all that, “Empire” is awsome.
Just finished listening to the new album. It’s better than I thought it would be based on my listening experience of the teaser. I still beleive ICN is the best. I also wish there were more tracks that had orchestrations in it. The piano and accoustic guiter were some nice additions where the strings were missing. That being said, IMO, Break My Sould is the best track. I look forward to listening to it more, it will be a LONG wait for another album.
